Your apprenticeship:

Digital and print media designers design printed or digital media products such as brochures, catalogs, posters, newspapers or magazines and create design concepts and drafts for digital media. Based on the customer's requirements for the product, they first prepare image, graphic, text and video material, produce design drafts and present these to the customer using product samples and prototypes. When producing print media, they select suitable printing or production processes, check, transfer and convert the production data and ensure compliance with quality standards.

When producing digital media, they pay particular attention to compliance with media law requirements, e.g. accessibility, as well as quality standards and are responsible for interactive, audiovisual or cross-media media. To this end, they may carry out video and sound recordings, edit image, graphic, video and sound material, create visual effects, animations or 3D objects and combine the various components into a digital media product.

Your training with us:

• You will get to know all facets of training as a media designer in the "digital" and "print" sector
• Design: basics, typography, color and form theory, layout
• You will learn the professional handling of common hardware and software in the field of graphic design such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional and Figma
• You design print media and are responsible for print preparation and printing processes
• You design and create graphic elements for websites, social media and video portals
• You research, create and edit image material
• You learn the basics of HTML and CSS applications, work with TYPO3 and other content management systems
• in the field of digital media you program applications with Javascript, HTML and CSS, work with TYPO3 and other content management systems
